THE FOUNDING VISION

At our core, we are retailers. QED Eyewear was born out of our proudly independent family practice, Harry Toulch Optométristes, which has served the Montreal community since 1958. With three generations of optometrists, QED carries forward a legacy of clinical expertise and trust. This is eyewear created by optical retailers for optical retailers, blending many decades of real world experience with a relentless drive to push the boundaries of rimless design.

Our mission was to revolutionize the rimless category with the simplest, most optician-friendly mounting system ever. With over two decades of experience in luxury eyewear design, optical engineering, and patented technologies, the team aims to bring to market a next-generation suite of innovative rimless products based around the patented QED mounting system.

Michael Toulch - Founder and inventor, patent holder, and lead in product design and development.

 

Guy Vadish - Director of commercialization and strategic leader, driving growth and market expansion.

 

Jonah Toulch - Optometrist and VP of operations and creative development, bringing clinical expertise and a practical understanding of consumer needs.

 

Patrick Sarguious - Creative director and head of operations, with an optician background and deep expertise in rimless eyewear.

 

Together, the QED founding team has a proven track record of successfully bringing rimless eyewear technologies such as Try-Change and Interfaces to market. Their collaborative approach blends technical mastery with business acumen, ensuring QED’s products are not only innovative but commercially viable worldwide.

 

RECOGNITION ON THE GLOBAL STAGE

QED Eyewear launched at MIDO Milan in 2025 with a clear goal: to introduce our patented rimless system to the trade. Our live demonstrations drew significant attention and quickly established QED as a brand to watch among leading optical professionals.

A defining moment came later that year when model “Phi” was awarded the prestigious SILMO d’Or in Technological Innovation in Eyewear. This honor celebrated the simplicity, reversibility, and durability of the QED mounting system, confirming its place as a true breakthrough for the industry.
